Synonyms:

A synonym is a word or phrase that has the same or similar meaning  as another word or phrase.

 Writers often use synonyms in order not to repeat meaning.

Examples:

little   =  small
enjoy =  like
store  =  shop
teenagers  = young people 
angry   =  mad


Writers can also use words or phrases that have similar meaning, but more specific of more general.

Examples:

What is a relative pronoun?

Relative pronouns connect several ideas in one sentence. The pronoun takes the place of a noun or an idea already in the sentence.

Relative Pronouns:

1-who  :   refer to people 
2-which : refer to things and ideas 
3- that :   refer to things

Pronouns are small but important words. They are often important in the meaning of a sentence.

kinds of pronouns:
