Words are are often made of different parts. If you know the meaning of some of the parts, you can better understand the meaning of the whole word.

The parts of a word:

1- root الجذر 

2- prefix السابقة

3- suffix اللاحقة

The root is the most important part of a word.

The prefix changes the meaning of a word.
The suffix changes the part of speech of a word.
